Katie Fish

Board of Director

Katie moved from the Midwest to Rancho Santa Fe after she and her husband retired. Katie graduated from Wayne State University with a teaching degree and went on to earn a master’s degree from Michigan State University. Katie taught elementary education for 30 years. Katie has volunteered for several nonprofits, chairing committees and fundraising events. Currently, she is part of the management team at the Assistance League Thrift Shop in Encinitas. Her love of gardening expanded after moving to California and being able to garden all year long.  She enjoys her roses, and succulents have become her new interest as they are unique and water-wise.

For Katie, the most important aspect of the Garden Club is their philanthropic program that provides grants to community groups involved in some aspect of horticulture, conservation and community service. “The Garden Club is a place to give back to the community, learn and make new friends.”
